Itinenary

Day 1 SINGAPORE - NAGOYA - TAKAYAMA - TOYAMA

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Nagoya. Upon arrival, proceed to Takayama, stroll in the fresh produce market to experience the daily lifestyle of the locals. Continue to view sake breweries and merchant houses with latticed bay windows lined in a row in Takayama Castle Town, where you can also pick up exclusive Hida souvenirs, confectionary and the popular sarubobo good luck charms. Next, continue your journey to Shirakawa-go village, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site to view its old farmhouses with steep roofs resembling two hands folded for a prayer.

If your flight is after midnight, assemble at Singapore Changi Airport 2 hours before the time of your flight to Nagoya.

Day 2 TOYAMA - TATEYAMA KUROBE ALPINE ROUTE - HAKUBA

Enjoy sight-seeing as you travel along the scenic Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route that links Toyama and Nagano prefectures. During the journey, view Tateyama, which along with Mt Fuji and Mt Hakusan is one of Japan’s 3 Sacred Mountains and has been worshiped since ancient times. Admire the magnificent Tateyama Range, a spectacular and solemn display of peaks which forms a picturesque alpine scene. This majestic range can be traversed via 6 different transportations: Tateyama cable car, Tateyama highland bus, Tateyama tunnel trolley bus, Tateyama ropeway, Kurobe cable car and Kanden tunnel trolley bus. Along the way, pass by the 350-metre high Shomyo-Daki, the highest waterfall in Japan. Explore the famous Kurobe Alps, also known as the spinal core of Japan, for its unique diversity of floras, faunas and alps sceneries. Next, be enthralled by Kurobe Dam, one of the greatest man made wonders in the world.

Day 3 HAKUBA - NAGANO - KARUIZAWA - TAKASAKI - NIKKO

Visit Nagano Olympic Stadium where the Winter Olympic game was hosted in 1998. Continue to Zenkoji temple, a Buddhist temple built in the 7th century which is now one of the last few remaining pilgrimage sites in Japan. The temple contains a statue of Binzuru, a physician said to be Buddha’s follower. It is believed that touching the statue can cure one’s ailments. Proceed to Karuizawa, a popular get-away for Tokyoites especially in summer. Enjoy shopping at the Karuizawa factory outlet there. Visit Takasaki, the hometown of the Daruma dolls which represent the Buddhist sage Bodhidharma and are considered a symbol of good luck. Thereafter, continue your journey to Nikko

Day 4 NIKKO - TOKYO

This morning, visit Lake Chuzenji, is a scenic lake in the city of Nikko. It was created 20,000 years ago when Mount Nantai erupted and blocked the river. Next, explore Nikko Tosho-Gu shrine, is famous for its five-story pagoda and the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" monkey sculptures, and moreover is the place enshrining the soul of Tokugawa leyasu. Thereafter, take a leisure drive to Shinjuku for your shopping spree.

Day 5 TOKYO

After Breakfast, visit the over 1,300-year-old Asakusa Kannon Temple, is the oldest temple in Tokyo. You may purchase some souvenirs at Nakamise Avenue, a nearby shopping street. Next, have your shopping spree in Akihabara electric city, Ginza & Aeon Plaza.

If time permits, you can do some last-minute shopping before you transfer to the airport for your flight home.
